Sounds of town, rush around,
shop worn women, police in pairs.
School kids out played, in the arcade.
I'll await the date for dole.
To catch a penny,
the heaving herds push past me,
folly of envy,
life's a door with a broken key.
Seeing old maps, lost in time-lapse,
forlorn lanes, paths of the past.

Pocket of land, piece of sky,
my mind goes back for the reasons why.
In old school reflections of us,
broken signs, love lines in dust.
The back drop tells of her,
in deep indelible dharma.

Shadows of clowns, choral sounds,
bike shed Romeo, pigtail tease.
Fragile time torn clues, glass case values.
Tests to tell the labels for life.
To upheld the school name,
Whinney Lane loonies, are out of sight.
Past times with Rosie,
calls at her home for Sunday tea.
Something in hollow, still pulls slow,
senses of loss, moods of mellow.

Danny's Rock Band, of close harmonies,
the meadow larks of gym slip groupies.
Both of us played for her,
hazel eyes, love lorn stare.
I multiplied by two,
the night Rosie lay with you.

Lions lie down, broken in ground,
fought for soil, call of a coin.
Danny's the days sport, in the Ardoyn.
Rosie's ghost man's a marital outpost.

In moments that pass by,
my minds eye looks back to see,
picnics with Rosie,
Florentine wine for me.
Passing warm glow, please don't go,
falling fast, gold into snow.
